Yokohama striker, Kazuyoshi Miura, has signed a contract extension at his Japanese club.
Miura, who will be 51 in February will play the new season in the second division side.
The deal means the Japanese International will enter the 33rd season of his record-breaking career, which began at Brazilian side, Santos in 1986.
Miura, who joined current club
Yokohama FC at the age of 38 in 2005, has played over 200 league games for his club.
The forward has played for clubs like Genoa and Dinamo Zagreb and Coritiba and Santos in Brazil .
Miura has promised to continue growing. He said: “I will always play my heart out and hope to continue to grow (as a player),” he told Kyodo news agency.
The Japanese striker’s 139 goals placed him sixth in the all-time list of top scorers in J-League’s top division.
