The major problem that my community is facing today is poor management of our education system.
Many gifted children now lack the opportunity to attend school. This is because, the cost of going to school this days is increasingly alarming.Poor families, as a result, cannot meet up with the demands.By this way, responsible citizens who should be in leadership positions are denied of this opportunity. This goes a long way to leading to the crumbling of our economy. This gave rise even to the current recession that our county is facing.
I strongly believe that if I am opportuned to secure a scholarship that will see me through my university education, I will struggle to achieve success and go further to creating rooms for free education in our community.
I will create an enabling environment for a mutual co- existence between the poor and the rich in our community and schools.By so doing, gifted children who have amazing talents and abilities will come into play and have a say in the society at large.
Furthermore, I will make sure that I enlighten other poor students with proven academic abilities about the existence of some charity organization that are concerned about education for the less privileged so that they can as well inherit.
Nevertheless, I plan on setting up a scholarship scheme with the experience I will gather from whichever scholarship that I may happen to secure, if I am finally successful. This is to make sure I contribute immensely in the fight to eradicate mass illiteracy in our community, especially on the part of the poor.
Achieving a Bachelor's degree will also set me up as a standard/reference point for the hopeless and give them the courage to keep working towards their dreams. Some do not believe that one can still make it to his or her dreams irrespective of whether the finance is available.I want to prove to students who are facing the same fate with me that there is a living God who knows their sorrows and travails.I want to prove to them that there are people out there who really care about them; people like Mastercard Foundation, who do not discriminate nor judge them by their colours and social rank, but have interest in what they are willing to offer, what they have in their brain. This is more of a summary to the kind of foundation I would love to run when I achieve a bachelor's degree at a University ,basucally through scholarship by God's grace.
I challenge our artisans and well-to-do people to come out and help put things in the right way they should be so that the poor masses can have a say in the society. We should stop being greedy and selfish as we dont know where our help will come from tomorrow.
